Blogarama!

I'm sure everyone has noticed the distinct lack of bloginess around here lately. The reason is that our network is down at work and has been all week so I haven't really had a chance to get on here.
It's been a while since I've posted so I can't really cover everything I have done in the last week but I will do my best.
Last weekend was a truly chilled weekend. I did very little that I can remember. Let me think...
I went to see Alien vs Predator which I thought was a pretty good film. Quite short but full of action. Nowhere near as scary as the alien films before it but still worth a gander.
On Sunday I watched the pilot of the new Battlestar Galactica series which was pretty cool. Since then I have watched the first two episodes as well and so far I'm fairly impressed.
Earlier this week we visited the solicitors which was not a pleasant experience. My Dad put it best when he said "they are supposed to be working on YOUR behalf but in fact they are working on behalf of your (Laura's) grandparents."
I did post a long while back with my suspicions about this coming back to haunt us and I think I've been pretty much proven right. Hopefully it will all be over soon...
Our latest estimate for moving house is Tuesday/Wednesday next week.
So anyway, we went for a meal at the Mersey Farm in Sale (we=me,laura, anya, dad, mum, reece+vicky) which was nice. I really quite like it there - they do really nice food, it is reasonably priced and it's a pleasant atmosphere. Oh, and they have a quiz machine - always a bonus.
Wednesday night I had a full body massage (a gift from Laura) which was pretty sweet. For the information of anyone who suspects otherwise, a full body massage includes feet, legs, hands, arms, back and chest. Nowhere else.
Thursday night Russ came over and he, Reece and myself played Warhammer Quest with (once again) disastrous results. In the end me and Russ were slain by an Orc Shamen shortly before Reece was flattened (Monty Python style) by a huge foot from the sky. I'm sure we'll succeed sometime soon...
So tonight we are out to town to drink until we overflow in celebration of Reece's 22nd birthday. Poor Laura has to work (oh forgot to mention - Laura has a new job working at a restaurant in Sale) until quite late but she should hopefully be able to join us later on.
For the record, I haven't quite got Reece a birthday present yet. I'm totally stuck for ideas. I was watching a cool gift on ebay but it went a little higher than I could afford so I had to let it go and now I'm not sure what to get. I have had one idea but I'm not sure if Reece will like it so I may have to just take the chance and go for it. I always like my gifts to be something that the person I am buying for would not have thought of getting for themselves but it's always a risk since I can't be 100% certain that they will actually like the gift. So here's my apology in advance: Reece, if you don't like your birthday present then sorry! I can always take it back and no harm done.
Anyway, enough of that. Tomorrow we are having a meal with mum and dad to celebrate Reece's birthday and depending on how late that goes on I may drop by Olly's halloween party but I suppose it is unlikely.
Last night I rebuilt mum and dad's pc for the first time in a year and a half. It has been infected with spyware and adware and probably other stuff as well for longer than is healthy so it's nice for it to be fresh and new again. They probably havent noticed yet (although they will no doubt read this before long) but I have named their pc Avendesora which I think is quite a nice name for a pc. It's from the Wheel of Time books which I am reading at the moment.
Which leads me on to an update on those books. I'm in the middle of the fourth book now so only 6 more to go after that (plus another 2/3 which havent been written yet). The last few chapters have been a little boring and a little complicated in the way they were written but I have percevered and I am back into the thick of the plot again.
If anyone can recommend some webspace I can buy which is relatively cheap, preferably in the uk and even more preferably accepts paypal then can you let me know? I have a load of pics I want to upload onto my website but I'm still very aware that I am taking up a friend's webspace and his continued patience while I find somewhere to move to is much appreciated.
My Dad tried to post a comment a few days ago and somehow managed to send me a private message on the forum on my friend's website which was a surprise but for anyone who hasnt worked out how to post a comment yet:
1. Click under this post where it says "0 comments"
2. Click at the bottom of the next page where it says "post a comment"
3. Write your message in the big white space (remembering to sign it).
4. Select to post as anonymous and click "publish your comment"

Okie Diddle. Thats all for now folks.
Hope everyone is well and that I see you soon.
