Russ Russ Russ

I'm going to post a little about this but only a little because at the end of the day it's Russ's personal business but there is some humour in the whole Russ in prison side of it so I think it has to be posted.

So I met up with Russ on Wednesday night for a pint since I havent seen him in a while. We went to the Bridge at Dane Road and sat outside in the cold because there was a match on and it was pretty crowded inside.

Back story: Russ met Jo (his ex) on the internet. I dont have any time for anyone who critises this. If you are so closed minded as to think that two people cant meet on the internet then you stop reading and dont come back to my website every again.

So when he broke up with Jo he met someone else on the net. She is called Victoria (which she shortens to Tori) and at this stage they had been chatting and texting for some weeks. They hadnt yet met but when I left Russ he said he was off to Liverpool to meet her. We agreed to meet Thursday night for another pint.

So Thursday I texted Russ to see if we were still on for the pint. He texted back and said that was fine. Later in the afternoon I got a couple of calls from Russ but I couldnt pick up as I was in a meeting at work. I texted him to say that if he needed to get hold of me then he could text me.
When I left the meeting I had a missed call from Holly - Russ's sister. I called her and she asked me if I had seen Russ recently as they hadnt seen him since Wednesday and they couldnt get hold of him. Jo had called them to say that Russ had a letter at her house saying that his license had been revoked due to a speeding fine and they were all worried that he had been pulled over and arrested. When I mentioned that he had called me but I hadnt picked up they were particularly concerned that he had used his "one phone call" to call me and he wasnt allowed another one. I assured them that the last time I saw him he was on his way to Liverpool and if I got hold of him I would let them know.
I called Russ several times but no one picked up. By this time I was a little worried but there was nothing else I could do.
An hour later I got a text from Russ saying "I didnt call you"
This was getting weird. I called him twice but there was no answer so I texted him and told him that I'd had his sister on the phone saying there was a chance he was in prison and could he give me a call.
He called back almost straight away.
He was fine.
He knew about the fine and his phone had been on silent all day. He had told his parents he was staying at my house and then stayed in Liverpool with Tori. He hadnt called me at all so how I had those missed calls I do not know.
Pretty funny though - Russ in prison? Pretty cool that he has met a girl as well. Who knows how far it will go since it's very early days but it's good that he's getting some action. We should all be so lucky ;-)
