Random bloggage
I know I don't blog much anymore but I just thought I'd post about something that happened today.
Basically, I've got plans with Russ tonight. I was aware that Simon might be in town and I tried to get hold of him earlier in the week to no avail.
Simon rang me a short while ago to see if I wanted to meet up with him. At first I was thinking that it sounded good - a few pints in Sale for example - but then it quickly changed to going to town so that Simon could also meet his brother and god-father.
The last few times I've seen Simon it's been hard to ignore the feeling that he's trying to put all his eggs in one basket and see everyone he knows at the same time. When I drove down to see him early last year he invited his uni mates over at the same time (I dont know any of them) which kind of upset me since I'd travelled all that way to see him, not his uni mates.
I can see where he's coming from since he's not up in Manchester often and he wants to see everyone he can while he's here but I'd rather not spend an evening travelling into Manchester to listen to him reminisce with his brother and god-father.
I would love to still have a strong friendship with Simon despite the distance between us and I would be more than happy to travel down to see him but until I feel like I'm getting the same kind of investment from him I don't really feel like it will ever happen.
